Capturing toleration on social networks sites using internet-mediated research: June 30th Egyptian revolution case study

Purpose This paper aims at understanding the dynamics underlying toleration as a complex social phenomenon and its pattern on Facebook during June 30th revolution in Egypt. Thanks to huge advances ICT, internet-mediated research (IMR) has become one of most prominent methodologies sciences. Discussions network sites cannot be neglected studying emerging phenomena such changes public opinion, culture, attitudes virtues. Design/methodology/approach To fulfill this aim, researchers used web content analysis method inside IMR paradigm analyze discussions Tamarrod’s page period from July 5th examine overall toleration. Findings The results show indications that is inherent Egyptian society still keeps reputation highly tolerant society, even crises periods where tensions are witnessed everywhere. Moreover, also process proposed study reliable valid. Originality/value importance lies introducing computational empirical approach semi-automated way proving validity reliability
